AutoGuide's 2019 Silverado Review

Check out this video review of the new Silverado from the people over at AutoGuide. They haven't had a chance to get their hands on the diesel engine yet, but this gives a solid overview of its features and driving characteristics. They we're pretty disappointing with the interior design, especially when you consider what's being offered from Ford and Ram in their new models.

The 2019 is still a big step forward over the outgoing model. Most of the improvements have been made under the hood, save as with weight savings, and a more refined powerplant.

Exterior also got improved a lot. I feel like this time around they're better positioned to design a real Raptor Rival.

The Silvy Generation that just ended felt too stuck in the 2000's and not enough into the 2010's.

I'm a bit surprised that Chevy didn't take the same approach as Ram and offer a Classic model alongside the 2019. I saw that Consumer Reports has also posted up some early impressions. They weren't all that impressed with the suspension, especially when the bed was empty. Luckily the powertrain was found to be superb and a vast improvement over the previous generation.

Well at least here we get a level of practicality that is unmatched. GM basically redefined what a tail gate should be. Now it will be just as practical for a soccer mom to use it as it is for a guy in the trades.

It gets even better in the new Sierra...

GMC has confirmed that this Multi Pro Tailgate will eventually be coming to the Silverado as well. A source inside GM has said that odds are, we wont see this until at least 2020 however. And I don't know if you have heard but apparently its $7k to replace this tailgate if something goes awry...

Not a problem if you are cautious about where you park and how you park. its probably why after the mass of tail gate thefts that people started parking front end out.

So long as we don't see the same problem that Ford Super Duty's are currently experiencing. A whole bunch of owners are reporting that their tailgates are opening on their own. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/20...ilgate-problem

In that case I suggest inspecting the tailgate assembly yourself to see what might be vulnerable and even suggesting your dealer does themselves before taking delivery.
